Dayna Marzolf, R. Psych
Hi, I’m Dayna.
I’m a Registered Psychologist who believes meaningful change begins with feeling safe, understood, and accepted as you are. My approach is warm, gentle, and unhurried. When you’re ready, I’m curious about what you’re experiencing today, and about how your relationships, environment, and history have shaped the way you experience yourself and the world. Many of the clients I collaborate with have insight into their struggles, but still feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in repeating patterns.
At Best Choice, I offer individual counselling to help adults find new ways to work through anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, burnout, relationships, and life transitions. Affirming care is central to how I work, and I welcome LGBTQ2S+ clients and anyone exploring identity or gender. I also hold space for intergenerational wounds and for the parts of your identity and culture that matter to your healing.
I’m training in Somatic Experiencing, and my practice integrates mindfulness and trauma-focused approaches. Rather than assuming one approach will work for everyone, I adapt therapy to the needs, experiences, strengths, and goals of the person sitting across from me. I practice from the belief that mind and body aren’t separate. Trauma and stress don’t just change how you think; they change how your body responds to the world, so we work with both.
I’ve worked in the helping field since 2013 — in child and family services, psychiatric inpatient units, community counselling, and private practice — experience that has shaped how I care for the people I work with.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive, we can begin with where you are, explore what is and isn’t working, and work together toward the changes you’re hoping for. I offer in-person counselling from both Best Choice’s South and North Calgary offices, as well as online video sessions, so you can choose what feels most comfortable.
