Nav Gill, Provisional R. Psych, Canadian Certified Counsellor
As a Registered Provisional Psychologist, I bring both lived experience and over a decade of work in social services into the therapy room. My approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect for the unique paths that shape each client’s story. I work collaboratively with clients—honouring that they are the experts of their own lives—while gently guiding them using evidence-based practices within a trauma-informed, culturally responsive framework.
Born and raised in Calgary, I come from a South Asian background and understand first-hand the complexities of navigating multiple identities, generational expectations, and the unspoken grief that can accompany cultural transitions. My parents immigrated from India in the early 80s, and growing up in a bicultural environment shaped my deep appreciation for resilience, compassion, and the power of community. These values have guided my path into mental health and continue to inform my work today.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children with Autism and ADHD and their families, working from a strength-based and play-focused lens. My background includes leadership and direct support roles in developmental services, as well as counselling work with individuals facing a wide range of challenges—anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, self-worth, relationship difficulties, grief, burnout, cultural identity struggles, and life transitions. I completed my counselling internship at Calgary Counselling Centre, where I supported clients from all walks of life and deepened my practice in an inclusive, high-demand environment.
Therapeutically, I draw from a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I tailor my approach to meet each client where they’re at—whether that means building emotional regulation skills, processing trauma, or navigating major life changes.
What sets me apart is my ability to integrate professional knowledge with deep, intuitive understanding—especially for those who may not feel seen in traditional therapeutic settings. I aim to create a space that feels safe, empowering, and real. Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and infused with compassion.
I’m fluent in both English and Punjabi, and I offer flexible therapy sessions in person and online, including evenings and weekends.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a mom of two, a lifelong learner, and someone who finds joy in books, podcasts, nature, and the occasional suspenseful movie night. I believe healing is possible—and that you don’t have to walk through it alone. When you’re ready, I’m here.
