Raheleh's Background:
My journey as a mental health professional spans nearly two transformative decades, encompassing diverse landscapes from Iran, Japan, India, to North America. This journey has granted me a unique vantage point to witness the profound impact of psychology on personal growth, the journey to overcome obstacles, and the discovery of inner peace amidst chaos.
My academic pursuit culminated in a PhD degree in Psychology, complemented by graduate degrees (MA and MSc) from esteemed institutions in India and the USA. Additionally, I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Iran, along with a postgraduate degree in Guidance and Counseling and two mental health-related certificate degrees. This academic foundation is a testament to my commitment to a multifaceted approach.
Throughout my professional tenure, particularly since my move to Canada in 2007, I’ve actively embraced diverse opportunities for growth. Notable among these are immersive training experiences under renowned figures like Dr. David Burns, where I delved into Advanced Applications of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Guided by Dr. Bruce Perry’s insights, I embarked on a transformative journey exploring The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) for Trauma, enriching my holistic therapeutic approach.
My therapeutic palette is expansive and dynamic, incorporating modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and innovative neurofeedback techniques. Equally comfortable in the realm of expressive therapies, I employ Art and Play Therapy to nurture emotional exploration and growth.
Beyond the practice realm, I’ve actively contributed by presenting research papers at national and international conferences, advancing the discourse on mental health. My journey finds further enrichment through collaborations with multidisciplinary teams and unwavering support for families of children with special needs.
I extend an invitation to embark on a transformative journey towards well-being with me.
Warmly,
Dr. Raheleh Tarani
